Second weekend CSI** in ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ

Such a long time since my previous blog post! So I guess I will divide the last weeks in to a couple of posts!

Mornings started always like this, up at 06.00 and jog to the stables to morning ride Alf’i! My sole purpose of that is to get him to relax and make himself looong.

Afterword last I jog back to the hotel and have breakfast! Then take the car to the show again ! And yes, I jog in my JEM L rodingpants, they are so soft! Then I just change in to the ridingboots in the stables

Last weekend of the CSI in San Giovanni! I took Alf’i for the Longines Ranking Class on Friday! I could only ride one horse, would had liked to had jumped both him and Picsou. I actually had a good feeling, everything went really smooth, but had one down on a oxer going in to a line that had a double after. I got the back rail on the oxer and also two poles in the double.

It’s not offer that Alf’i has two poles in a row cause he is a super careful horse, so we asked the show treating vet to just look at him. No lameness just a little muscle pain in the back. How ever they said not to worry and that I could jump the day after also.

I jumped Alf’i also in the small GP on Saturday and we were clear and placed nr 9 of over 60 starts! He jumped amazing clear in the first round and fault going out of the double in the jumpoff again with the hind leg. To be sure this muscle pain was not bothering him I made a appointment with out SUPER SWISS Vet Daniel, so he could look at JK when we got home!

Duc did 135 everyday and was placed everyday! He is such a good friend! He really gets course jumping and he can jump from any angle of any turn in any speed! Here is a good example of Duc being really in the game and a great team player! Taking that oxer from a crazy angle and trusting him to see, understand and react in the best way! I mean look at that! What a horse

We both love to go to Price giving and I always bring a lot of carrots to him, so he can stand in the ring and enjoy himself!

Check him out, giving a friendly kiss to the judgeposing perfect knowing he’s the best proudly galloping around

I wish all of you could get to know him, he has such a great personality! And he really knows that me and him belong together! We have our routines, I love the way he looks at me when I come to the stables, I love to brush him, and ride him in the forest, I love to handwalk him, and of course to compete with him! I also love so much to make him happy! And to hide carrots in his box so he can look for them! I just feel so lucky that he is my horse

Over to Teddy, well, as you have noticed when he is in Italy he has changed name to Teddy’lino! Teddy did 125 everyday at this show, he was clear and also placed everyday if I remember correct, or actually, he was placed Friday and in the Grand Prix of the CSI* on Sunday! Haha, if you have watched my story on instagram you probably remember this moment, I sit on him and clap, TEDDY’Lino clap clap Teddy’lino clap clap, and our stable friends does the same! We had such a great gang in the stables and was joking around all the time! why we were extra happy is because that when we arrived in Italy to this show i was doubting so much about me and Teddy being a good combination. I felt we had no chemistry and that he jumped bad with me and I thought it will never work! But a lot of encouragement from my friends and the Sexy groom, really helped! me joking around when Thelma and Pickle (the girlfriend of Duc) got second place in a class! WELL DONE GUYS !

Helle, the sexy groom, a bundle of positive energy and happiness! Very encouraging and really want us all to do well!

Of course โค๏ธFrancois have been supporting of us all the time but he also told me if I felt that I could not do it we could find another solution with him, cause it’s not good for the horse or the rider if you don’t really get super along! But in Italy, Sexy groom, Thelma, and Valentin was like cheering, singing and shouting, coming to watch me, throwing their hands in the air and like HEY YO LETS GO! This is awesome he’s awesome your awesome! And with hearing that I thought me and Ted was awesome, I started to feel that we were awesome and by the end of the show we became awesome! we of course has A LOT to work on, but now we are a team! And we have so much fun together and we try our best as a team to jump the jumps clear and to be a good team is the definition of being awesome in my eyes!

So Picsou! My superstar that I probably have won the most big classes with in my life! He did the GP qualifier on Thursday and I saved him so we could to only the GP on Sunday! Friday I rode a little dressage on him, Saturday only hand walking! Picsou can get a little fed up with riding in the ring everyday, and then he becomes really lazy so this is the system that we found worked best in him when I rode him two years ago and was placed I the GP on every show I went to! Back to the system, Sunday morning I morning ride him and then GP time in the afternoon!

The GP, I really don’t want to go in to detail on how it went but we had two down and it was not a nice smooth round. It’s like we were not synced. The team talked about it and we counted the classes I have ridden on him in two years, one time 135 and one time 140 in SanRemo (in a 2 week period) one time 140 the first week of San Giovanni, one time 140 and one GP the second week of San Giovanni, and the same the last week. So total 6 classes. It felt like when we got in to a difficult situation in that Sunday’s GP it was him and me alone trying to find a solution. Not us working together. So with that in hand we made a plan to forget this round and enter for Arezzo to jump 3 classes there!

it’s important to have the health of the horse in mind, but also to do some starts together so your on the same page! You don’t reach your goal of communication and firing spirit only with carrots and handwalking! Shows needs to be done in a manner well planed so the horse stay healthy but you and him are ready as a team for that big class. If you have a older horse it might take a little bit longer since you can’t use it so much. But it will for sure be worth it when you get to that point! I love Picsou anyway and I am sure we will find each other soon!

  2. Thank you for posting again! Love reading about your training, even though I have had horses for way over twenty years, I still get new ideas, knowledge and tips from your posts. Guess that is what is so fascinating in this sport and life with horses – you can always learn new things and develope as a rider and in horsemanship.
